Karnataka Premier League (KPL) 2018

Formed by the Karnataka State Cricket Association, the Karnataka Premier League (KPL) 2018 is an Indian domestic T20 cricket league that has been modelled along the lines of the Indian Premier League.

Although the first two editions were held in 2009 and 2010, the tournament became inactive for the following three years. It was finally in 2014 that KPL made a comeback and has, since then, garnered millions of fans.

“The viewership for the KPL is increasing by the year. KPL 2017 became the second most viewed domestic T20 league in India and we will try to be the best this year. We have a lot of the younger crowd showing support on social media. With Star Sports as partners the viewership went up from 26 million in 2016 to 59 million in 2017.” Vinay Mruthyunjaya, KPL Governing Council member

The tournament kicked off on 15th August.
